Product Description
Project categorisation is a critical step in project management as the decisions made in this phase impact all subsequent project activities. At PM&C there are two project categories: Small and Medium to Large
Small – Low risk, low cost, minimal duration, minimal resource needs. Requires the minimal level of project governance & process
Medium to Large: Moderate or higher level of risk, requires reasonable to high level of funding, requires a specific level of resources to deliver products. Requires an expanded level of project governance and process
1. BAU and Projects that cost less than $200,000
For BAU, we need to complete the basic concept only. The BAU investment bid will be approved based solely on the investment bid. This process does not have the business case workflow. This caters for projects like purchase of IT equipment and property maintenance. For projects less than $200,000, the advanced concept is completed. This may result in the project being approved based on the concept bid only (No business case).

2. Projects that cost between $200,000 to $1,000,000
These projects should complete a Simple Concept Bid and, if requested, a Simple Business Case.

3. Projects that cost over $1,000,000
These projects should complete a Detailed Concept Bid and, if requested, a Detailed Business Case.
